S&P Global Buys Blockchain Security Developer OpenZeppelin

Share

S&P Global is expanding its capabilities in digital asset risk assessment with the acquisition of OpenZeppelin, a developer of security solutions for on-chain finance.

The company's smart contracts secure over $37 trillion in transfers, and its technologies underpin most of the largest stablecoins and tokenized funds.

OpenZeppelin was founded in 2015 and has conducted over 900 audits and security reviews, identifying more than 10,000 vulnerabilities before they went into production.

The deal is expected to help S&P Global build new security assessment tools, benchmarks, and analytics for the financial market's transition to blockchain infrastructure.
