Scammers Hijack Cardano's Official YouTube Channel
Cardano's official YouTube channel was hijacked on September 18, 2026. Scammers ran a nearly two-hour livestream using what appeared to be an AI-manipulated video of Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson.
The stream promoted a 'double your wealth' crypto scam, promising viewers they could double their wealth by scanning a QR code. The broadcast was framed as a Project Catalyst town hall, which is a real Cardano community funding program.
IOG warned users to avoid the channel until further notice and not click any links, send cryptocurrency, or share personal information with anything appearing on the compromised channel.
