Schiff: Bitcoin's Rally is Over, Bigger Selloff Ahead
Financial analyst Peter Schiff has expressed his bearish views on Bitcoin, stating that the 'Bitcoin party is over.' In a post on X, Schiff noted that a recent market rally has lifted many risk assets, but Bitcoin has not participated. He warned of a potential selloff in Bitcoin, citing its tendency to trade as a high-beta risk asset.
Schiff's view is based on the idea that when equities come under pressure, crypto often amplifies the move lower rather than providing shelter. He believes that Bitcoin's recent underperformance versus other risk assets is an early signal that the next downturn could hit Bitcoin harder than many holders expect.
BTC has already lost over half its value from its record high above $120,000 reached last October and has spent much of 2026 trading near the low-$60,000 range. Schiff maintains a consistently bearish stance on Bitcoin and often contrasts it with physical precious metals.
