Schwartz Smashes Scam: Ripple Vet Exposes Fake Airdrop on Social Network X

Ripple's Chief Technology Officer Emeritus and XRP Ledger architect David Schwartz has thwarted another scam scheme targeting the XRP community.

The scammers had launched an aggressive promotional campaign for a fake airdrop on social network X, posting under a hacked account of culture magazine 'NplusOneMag'. Instead of going through lengthy corporate procedures, Schwartz personally entered the scammers' thread and posted memes saying: 'I can spot a scam from a mile away' and 'This is a scam.'

The incident unfolded when users flooded the platform's administration with reports after Schwartz's reaction became a call to action. The fraudulent thread was completely blocked before unsuspecting investors could lose funds.

This fight is not new for Schwartz, who has been waging a guerrilla war against scammers in the XRPL ecosystem for some time. His profile has carried a pinned warning post for months: 'Anyone claiming to be me on Instagram or Telegram is a scammer. Stay safe, XRP family.'
