Scroll Shifts Focus to AI-Centric Infrastructure with Private Network Reboot
Scroll Network is shifting its focus from a public general-purpose network to a private, application-specific infrastructure centered around an AI product stack. The nine-month transition, outlined in the Scroll Governance Forum on September 8, 2026, aims to address the needs of AI agents interacting with credentials and private data.
The new infrastructure includes Compass, an iOS app, and the Compass API, which provides routing for over 30 LLM models. CENO will provide the ZK trust layer for credentials and privacy-preserving compute, while USX supports payments. The team targets 10,000 transactions per second and sub-cent fees.
The pivot follows months of internal experimentation applying AI across operations and product development. This change may alienate existing DeFi users as the network focuses on a specialized model.
