SEC Approves Five-Year Exemption for Tokenized Stock Trading
The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has granted a temporary exemption to allow tokenized stock trading venues to operate in the country for five years.
This move marks one of the SEC's clearest steps towards bringing public-company shares onto blockchain technology.
The exemption, which lasts until publication or regulatory framework changes, allows qualifying Tokenized Securities Venues to facilitate trading in tokenized National Market System stocks using permissioned automated market makers and liquidity pools.
