SEC Approves Listing of Six Products with 3x Exposure to Bitcoin and Ether
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has approved a rule change that will allow Cboe BZX Exchange to list six products from the VS Trust family with daily 3x exposure: 3x Bitcoin, 3x Ether, 3x Gold, 3x Silver, 3x Crude Oil, and 3x Natural Gas.
The approval is related to a rule change proposal submitted by Cboe on August 10, 2026, which was published in the Federal Register on August 19. The SEC states that it did not receive any comments on the proposal.
The six products are Commodity-Based Trust Shares (CBTS), also known as Exchange-Traded Products (ETPs), and will be listed under Nasdaq Rule 5711(d). CBTS are a type of ETP that is registered with the SEC but not subject to the Investment Company Act of 1940.
The products will have daily 3x exposure to their underlying assets, which means that they will aim to return three times the performance of their benchmark indices on a daily basis. The funds will invest in futures contracts and other derivatives to achieve this goal.
