SEC Commissioner 'Crypto Mom' Peirce to Leave Post on October 2

Hester Peirce, known as 'Crypto Mom', plans to resign from her position at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on October 2nd, ending nearly nine years of service.

Prior to her departure, Commissioner Peirce led the SEC's Crypto Task Force, which focused on issues such as Bitcoin, digital-asset mining, staking, memecoins, and digital-asset classification.

Following Peirce's resignation, the SEC will have two remaining commissioners: Chair Paul Atkins and Mark Uyeda. This change comes as the agency continues to shape its approach to cryptocurrency regulation.
