SEC Gets Free Rein on Crypto After CLARITY Act's Failure

Share

Nate Geraci, President of ETF Store, called the failure of the CLARITY Act ironic, as it will give the SEC free rein to fast-track crypto through existing laws without congressional oversight.

The bill failed to pass due to a lack of votes in the Senate, and Geraci believes that this will result in President Trump's SEC doing whatever they want within existing laws to advance the crypto industry.

Geraci acknowledged that a future administration could reverse some of the work done by the current SEC, but argued that the pace of the crypto industry is so fast that it may be too late to undo any significant progress made.
