SEC Greenlights 3x Leveraged ETFs on Bitcoin, Ether, and Other Assets
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has given the green light to the listing of six leveraged exchange-traded funds (ETFs) on various assets, including Bitcoin and Ether. The ETFs, part of the VS Trust managed by Volatility Shares, will deliver three times the daily returns of their underlying assets.
The SEC approved a rule change submitted by Cboe BZX Exchange, which will list and trade the products. The funds use futures contracts and other instruments to track the daily returns of indexes tied to the underlying assets.
The Bitcoin and Ether products are based on Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) futures prices. The lineup also includes products tied to gold, silver, crude oil, and natural gas.
