SEC Order Boosts Ethereum Price, Crypto-Linked Equities Soar
Crypto-linked equities are surging on Monday as Ethereum extends its rally following a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) order that opened a regulated pathway for tokenized U.S. stocks.
Ethereum's price has risen to $2,727.39, up 5.7% over the past 24 hours, according to data from various sources.
The SEC issued an order on September 17 as a five-year exemption rather than a formal rulemaking, creating a regulated pathway for certain trading venues to issue tokenized representations of publicly traded U.S. stocks.
Bitmine Immersion Technologies stock has climbed 6% to $27.42, with its value tied directly to the price of Ethereum due to its status as an Ethereum treasury company.
Coinbase Global shares have also risen 6% to $205.12, closely tracking the tokenization rulebook and benefiting from its role in operating a trading venue for tokenized equity offerings outside the United States.
