SEC Tokenized Stock Move a Threat to Bitcoin's Adoption, Says Peter Schiff
Financial markets are abuzz with the recent U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announcement on tokenized stocks, which many see as a bullish signal for blockchain-based finance.
However, Peter Schiff, a longtime Bitcoin skeptic, believes this development poses a threat to Bitcoin's adoption, drawing capital away from the cryptocurrency rather than supporting it.
Schiff argues that tokenized stocks offer digital representations of traditional equities issued on blockchain networks, allowing investors to gain exposure to shares of public companies through crypto-native infrastructure.
He believes that this will redirect some investor capital from Bitcoin to these new products, as they provide a more reliable store of value than the cryptocurrency, which does not generate earnings or dividends.
