SecondFi Warns Against Claiming NIGHT Tokens from Compromised Wallets

SecondFi has warned users not to claim NIGHT tokens from compromised wallets due to security concerns. The warning comes as some affected wallet holders are scheduled to receive NIGHT allocations on September 22, but their wallets remain permanently compromised.

The issue stems from a June security incident that resulted in the theft of approximately $2.6 million worth of ADA from 374 wallets. An investigation found that a cryptographic flaw in SecondFi's wallet software allowed attackers to derive private key material from public blockchain data.

SecondFi has no control over the NIGHT claiming mechanism, which is managed by the Midnight Foundation. The company has directed users seeking alternative options to contact the Midnight Foundation directly.
