SecondFi Warns NIGHT Token Claimants: Don't Risk Giving Hackers More

SecondFi has warned users whose wallets were compromised in its June security breach not to claim NIGHT tokens they are due to receive. The only address those tokens can be sent to is the one attackers can still drain, leaving affected victims with a difficult decision.

The Midnight Foundation's system allows claims only from the original wallet address, SecondFi explained. This means that if a user tries to claim their NIGHT tokens into an unaffected wallet, they will not work.

SecondFi drained about 16.1 million ADA from 374 wallets in June, and affected keys remain exposed. The company has said it is working to help affected users secure the Midnight Foundation's Glacier Drop, but recovery of NIGHT tokens redeemed to affected wallets 'cannot be guaranteed given the nature of the vulnerability.'
