Senate Democrats have introduced legislation to create an independent Anti-Corruption Bureau, which would investigate and recover funds linked to corruption by senior public figures. The proposed bureau would have subpoena, enforcement, oversight, and reporting powers.

The bill, sponsored by Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer, aims to prevent the misuse of public office for private financial gain. Schumer accused President Donald Trump of turning the presidency into a family business, saying he has 'turned the presidency into the most profitable scam of his life.'

Trump's family crypto ventures have generated an estimated $620 million in proceeds from token sales, NFTs, and a stake in a Bitcoin mining company. The CLARITY Act talks remain stalled over ethics rules and enforcement powers.
