Senate Schedule Throws CLARITY Act into Uncertainty

Share

The U.S. Senate's schedule for Monday has raised concerns about the fate of the Digital Asset Market CLARITY Act, with just days left before lawmakers break for recess on August 10.

Former CFTC Chairman Chris Giancarlo warned that the industry should not assume crypto innovation depends entirely on the bill, saying 'the world is going to go on' regardless of its passage.

Giancarlo acknowledged the bill's value, including the reauthorization of LabCFTC, which he launched during his tenure. He also urged every U.S. financial regulator to establish similar innovation centers to better understand emerging technologies.

The Senate's cloture calendar shows no filing related to H.R. 3633, the House-passed crypto market structure bill, leaving its path uncertain.
