Sequans Ditches Bitcoin Holdings After 80% Revenue Surge
Sequans Communications S.A., a French semiconductor company specializing in 5G/4G cellular IoT and software-defined radio solutions, has sold its remaining Bitcoin holdings and eliminated convertible debt. The sale marks a significant milestone for the company, which aims to strengthen its financial foundation.
The move comes after Sequans redeemed its convertible debt in May 2026. The company's second-quarter product revenue increased by more than 80% year-over-year, with its six-month product backlog tripling compared to the prior year.
Sequans now operates without outstanding debt outside of government-financed R&D projects and no longer holds any cryptocurrency on its balance sheet. CEO Dr. Georges Karam stated that this decision reflects a disciplined execution of a strategy designed to strengthen the company's financial foundation.
