Sequans Dumps Remaining Bitcoin Holdings After Short-Lived Crypto Experiment
Sequans Communications has sold its remaining Bitcoin holdings, marking the end of its short-lived crypto treasury strategy. The Paris-based semiconductor company had launched the initiative in June 2025 with a $384 million sale of equity and convertible secured debentures.
In backing the strategy, CEO Georges Karam called Bitcoin 'a premier asset and a compelling long-term investment.'
However, the company began trimming its holdings less than six months later, selling 970 BTC in November to redeem half of its convertible debt.
The final sale completes the exit from crypto for Sequans, which now carries no cryptocurrency on its balance sheet and has eliminated all non-government-backed debt outside of R&D obligations.
