Sharplink to Stake $200M in ETH via Lido Liquid Staking
Sharplink Inc., one of the largest corporate holders of Ether (ETH), has announced plans to stake $200M of its ETH through Lido, a leading liquid staking protocol on Ethereum. The move aims to enhance the DeFi yield of Sharplink's treasury and is part of the company's effort to make its ETH holdings more productive for shareholders.
Lido accounts for approximately 64% of all liquid staked ETH, with over $16.5B of ETH staked through the protocol. The wstETH token, which represents staked ETH and its associated staking rewards, is integrated across more than 100 protocols and has around $10B in active use as collateral.
This integration will allow Sharplink to benefit from the composability of wstETH while maintaining institutional-grade risk standards. The addition of Lido's protocol to Sharplink's existing staking and restaking strategy reflects its commitment to working with top Ethereum protocols.
