Shiba Inu Breaks Downtrend After Gaining Approval in Strict Japan Regime
Shiba Inu has broken an 11-month downtrend after gaining approval from Japan's strict regulatory regime. Laser Digital Japan, a digital assets division of Nomura Holdings, included SHIB among six tokens its platform will support.
The approval follows Laser Digital Japan receiving its exchange registration from Japan's Financial Services Agency (FSA) on August 21, 2026, the first new crypto exchange license in four years.
Laser Digital Japan plans to focus initially on liquidity services before expanding into broader institutional trading options. SHIB has also been listed on other Japanese platforms, including Rakuten Wallet, which added SHIB/JPY trading pairs in April 2026.
The token reclaimed its 200-day moving average for the first time in 2026, and its market cap has stabilized between $3.22 billion and $3.26 billion after grinding lower for nearly a year.
