Shiba Inu Burn Mechanism Falters for One Day Amid Broader Decline in Activity
Shiba Inu's burn mechanism remained dormant for at least one day, as no SHIB tokens were transferred to inaccessible addresses during a 24-hour window. According to data from Shibburn, zero SHIB burns were recorded over this period, marking a 100% decline in daily burn rate compared to the previous reading.
This development comes amidst a broader trend of reduced burn activity within the Shiba Inu ecosystem. Over the past seven days, Shibburn reported 44.60 million SHIB burned, with the weekly burn rate falling 69.59% from the preceding comparable period.
Looking at the 30-day period, the monthly burn rate declined by a significant 88.05%, with 413.44 million SHIB destroyed during this time. This suggests that Shiba Inu's burn mechanism is not experiencing any technical issues, but rather a natural fluctuation in community activity.
Despite the lack of burns, SHIB's price rose 9% over the past 24 hours and traded near $0.00000543 as demand improved across the broader cryptocurrency market. This indicates that short-term price performance is not solely determined by burn data.
