Shibarium Block Explorer Only Halfway Indexed
On October 6, 2026, Shibarium's block explorer revealed that only 55% of the network's blocks had been indexed, leaving around 4.8 million blocks unread. This incomplete indexing means that transaction figures, address counters, and daily statistics currently reflect the state of the index rather than the entire network. Shibarium continues to produce blocks as usual, but the block explorer is in the process of rebuilding its database, a task that can take days.
The reindexing was triggered by an infrastructure change that included a switch of access nodes and a reorganization of the chain. While the chain itself remains operational, the block explorer's database is being rebuilt from scratch, which affects the accuracy of the displayed data. Internal transactions, such as those within smart contracts, are not being indexed at all, making it difficult to track swaps or liquidity provisions.
The daily transaction counter stood at 4,859 on October 6, but this figure is unreliable due to the incomplete indexing. In September, a reported jump in daily transactions was later attributed to the explorer catching up on blocks, highlighting the potential for misinterpretation during reindexing. The only reliable metric currently is the gas price, which remains low at 0.04 Gwei across all urgency tiers, indicating minimal network congestion.
Users are advised to independently record their transaction hashes, dates, times, amounts, and values to ensure accurate records. As the block explorer's data is incomplete, relying solely on it for transaction history could lead to errors. The chain's functionality remains unaffected, but the indexing process is expected to continue for some time.
