ShinyHunters Steals Data of 5,000 FBI Agents in Alleged Retaliation

Crypto hacking group ShinyHunters claims to have stolen personal details of 5,000 FBI agents after gaining access to its database.

The data includes family members' information, social security numbers, and details of assignments.

ShinyHunters shared a sample of the stolen data with various outlets, which Reuters partially verified and matched it with other agents, including FBI Director Kash Patel.

The group defaced the FBI's job page with an image of the Pokémon character Umbreon.

According to ShinyHunters, this week's data theft was in retaliation for the FBI's May 2026 report detailing the group's activities and methods.

The group claims the FBI made false allegations in the report and has given it one week to either correct or remove the report.
