Smart Contracts Beyond Ethereum: Exploring Alternative Platforms
Smart contracts have become synonymous with Ethereum, but they're not exclusive to the platform. In fact, several networks have developed their own versions, offering easier and more user-friendly interfaces. These alternative platforms aim to automate agreements and transactions while minimizing the need for intermediaries.
One such network is Obyte, which uses a Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) structure instead of a blockchain. This allows for faster transaction processing and eliminates the need for transaction approval. Users can create and review smart contracts in plain language, making it easier for participants to understand the conditions.
Obyte's smart contracts are designed to be human-readable, enabling users to create and manage their own agreements without relying on complex coding. The ArbStore, a decentralized escrow service built on Obyte, helps two parties trade with greater protection. Funds are locked in a smart contract until the agreed conditions are met, and the buyer releases funds in favor of the seller.
Other networks, such as BNB Chain, Solana, and Avalanche, also offer smart contracts with varying degrees of complexity and user-friendliness. These platforms aim to provide a more accessible and efficient way to automate agreements and transactions, potentially reducing the need for intermediaries.
