Solana Aims for Ethereum Supremacy with Kyle Samani's Bullish Bet
Kyle Samani, co-founder of Multicoin Capital, believes Solana (SOL) will surpass Ethereum (ETH) in market value this cycle. To achieve this, SOL's market cap needs to increase roughly five-fold from its current $58 billion. Currently, SOL has a significant lead over ETH when it comes to 30-day fees, with DefiLlama recording $23 million in Solana fees compared to Ethereum's $12.6 million.
Samani made this prediction on Cointelegraph's Trade Secrets podcast, where he stated that Solana is the 'most functional network' and that ETH's developers have failed to address scaling issues effectively. He also expressed his bearish views on Ethereum's ability to retain its position as the default chain for crypto firms.
It's worth noting that Samani has a personal connection to both projects, having co-founded Multicoin in 2017 and led early investment rounds in Solana in 2018. He also publicly expressed his loss of faith in Ethereum's developers handling scaling issues in the past.
