Solana Co-Founder Warns Industry Not Ready for Alpenglow Upgrade
Recently, Anatoly Yakovenko, co-founder of Solana, expressed concerns that the industry is 'not ready' for the network's next major upgrade, Alpenglow. The upgrade aims to transform block processing and significantly reduce transaction finality time. According to previous reports, Anza engineers have successfully migrated the Solana developer network to the Alpenglow consensus protocol. This move will bring about a notable improvement in transaction efficiency, aiming to cut down on processing times from approximately 12.8 seconds to 100-150 milliseconds. Yakovenko's statement highlights potential challenges that may arise during this transition.
