Solana Fees Plummet as Meme Coins Lose Steam
Solana's transaction fees have plummeted to their lowest in nearly five months, dropping by an astonishing 87% from its all-time high of $639,000 in March. According to Kyle Doops, host of Crypto Banter, this significant decline is largely due to the cooling hype and decreased activity of major meme coins on the Solana blockchain.
This drop in fees might seem alarming, but it's not entirely a negative development for Solana. The platform's stablecoin market cap has surged to $4 billion, its highest since October 2022, indicating growing trust in the network. DeFi platforms and wider crypto markets are increasingly adopting Solana's stablecoins.
Despite this mixed bag of news, some analysts remain optimistic about Solana's future. Trader Tardigrade has spotted a bullish Symmetrical Triangle pattern on SOL's weekly chart, which could potentially lead to significant price gains. If history repeats itself, SOL could reach as high as $1,200.
