Solana Foundation Launches Solana Scholars Program for Top PhD Students
The Solana Foundation has announced the Solana Scholars program, a research internship for top PhD students to build live blockchain solutions. The program aims to pair PhD students with Solana engineers to work on research projects that can be implemented in the Solana network. This collaboration will allow students to contribute to the development of the Solana protocol and potentially apply their research to their PhD thesis.
The internship is flexible, lasting three months, and can be done remotely or on-site in New York or Zurich. The Solana Foundation accepts applications all year round on a rolling basis, allowing students to work around their university schedules. Students will work directly with Solana engineers, including the Anza developer team, on research topics or problems specific to the Solana network.
The Solana Scholars program is selective, only accepting active and top-performing PhD students studying fields relevant to blockchain technology. Candidates must have had a scientific paper accepted or published at an academic conference such as SOSP, SIGCOMM, CRYPTO, EUROCRYPT, etc.
The goal of the program is to foster collaboration between academia and the crypto industry, and to contribute to the development of the Solana network. The final results of the research will be used and can be applied in the student's PhD thesis.
