Solana Holds Key Support as Futures Volume Surges
Solana (SOL) has maintained its crucial support level around $75 despite a sharp sell-off, according to recent data. This stability could potentially pave the way for a breakout above $81, which would trigger gains towards $276 and signal a bullish trend.
The Solana token dominates the DeFi market with a 64.5% share, significantly outpacing Ethereum and other tokens. Additionally, it leads in tokenized U.S. Treasury bills, adding $378.2 million in the past 30 days, reflecting strong growth in its tokenized asset ecosystem and trading volume.
However, despite this growth, Solana's futures trading volume has surged over 100% on major exchanges like Binance and OKX, yet its price remains steady near $75.30. This disconnect suggests increased speculative activity without strong buying demand, raising the risk of a sharp drop amid crowded long positions.
Michael Egorov, founder of Curve Finance, criticized Solana's Pump.fun platform as 'a casino of scams' due to its memecoin culture and Phantom wallet's hardware integration as inferior to Ethereum's Metamask.
