Solana Price Drops Amidst Positive Network Developments
The price of Solana (SOL) took a hit today, closing at $75.61 after a 0.84% drop in trading. This comes as Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and Dogecoin remain range-bound in a low-volume regime.
However, some positive news for Solana came from the announcement that MoneyGram's Ramp service is going live on the network. According to Amira, MoneyGram has 500,000 locations worldwide, making it one of the largest networks for cross-border money transfers.
This could be a significant boost for Solana, as users can now tap into MoneyGram's API and easily convert cash into digital assets on the platform. Additionally, users in over 170 countries can also off-ramp and turn their digital assets into fiat currency.
Another development for Solana is the tokenization of equity trades on a regulated digital asset exchange. Bullish executed the first tokenized equity trades on Solana, with shares of its own stock (BLSH) being traded with near-instant settlement and 24/7 USD stablecoin settlement.
