Solana Proposal Aims to Boost Burns to $650K as AlphaPepe Crosses $2.2M Raised
A proposal has been put forth to increase daily Solana (SOL) burns from $47,000 to as much as $650,000, a roughly 14-fold jump. The plan aims to tighten supply and sharpen SOL's economics.
The proposal, SGP-0003, would introduce resource-based fees that burn a larger share of network activity. It also includes a companion change that speeds up the decline in new SOL issuance.
However, the proposal must gather enough validator support to clear a signaling threshold before it reaches a vote later in August. Even if approved, the boosted burns would not immediately make SOL deflationary.
In contrast, AlphaPepe has already crossed $2.2 million raised at Stage 19, with a price of $0.02501. The demand is real, and the supply is fixed at one billion tokens from the start.
