Solana Token Launches Skyrocket, But Few Tokens Succeed

Solana has become the most active blockchain for new token launches globally, according to CryptoSlate data. In 2025 alone, Solana launchpads processed 11.6 million new token launches, more than doubling the prior year's total count.

However, only 0.89 percent of these newly created tokens were able to graduate from bonding curves to DEX pools. The high failure rate highlights the importance of clear utility, transparent authority management, and adequate liquidity for successful token deployment.

To create a Solana token, developers have several options, including using the Solana CLI tool or no-code platforms like CoinFactory and Smithii. The CLI tool allows developers to create, mint, and transfer custom fungible tokens using three basic terminal commands at a cost of roughly 0.0035 SOL via the CLI.

Solana's Token-2022 program extends the original SPL standard with native transfer fees, confidential transfers, and required metadata without needing external programs for these features. This program has completed five independent security audits from reputable firms and is being used by enterprise-grade companies like Paxos to launch their tokens on Solana.
