Solana Trader Banks $157K Profit from Meme Coin Mania

A Solana trader made a stunning $157,600 profit on a World Cup-themed meme coin called World Cup Coin.

The token launched on May 11, 2026, on Pump.fun and had a market cap below $40,000 at the time of the trader's first purchase. The trader spent $341 in five purchases within hours of the launch.

The token initially traded sideways for about 12 hours before its market cap spiked to $2.18 million, then climbed to $6 million the next day. During this period, the trader sold $35,700 worth of tokens.

World Cup Coin eventually hit an all-time high of $12.2 million on May 21, representing a gain of more than 30,000% from the initial purchase. The trader's remaining holdings were valued at $108,200 as of May 26.
