Solana's Price Slips Amid ETF Outflow and Alpenglow Switch
Solana's recent run of inflows has come to an end, with US spot ETFs on the platform experiencing a net outflow of $11.1 million on September 30. This marks a significant shift from the previous week, when the same products took in a record $188 million. The contrast between the two periods highlights the importance of understanding the underlying dynamics driving Solana's price.
The Solana price currently stands at $117.66, with a daily high of $122.60. Over the past seven days, the price has gained 4.1 percent, while over the past 30 days it has increased by 15.3 percent. However, the price remains 59.9 percent short of its all-time high of $293.31, set in January 2025.
The switch to Alpenglow consensus in October is also expected to have a significant impact on the network's performance. Alpenglow is designed to reduce finality times to around 150 milliseconds, compared to the current 12.8 seconds. However, the activation date for the switch is not fixed, but rather tied to epoch boundaries.
