SpaceX Stock Slumps Amid Share Divestment and Insider Holdings Unlock
SpaceX's (SPCX) stock price took a hit on September 23, declining by 4% to settle at $148.36.
The downturn was largely attributed to two key events: senior management's announced share divestment and the unlock of insider holdings.
Gwynne Shotwell, President and Chief Operating Officer, submitted paperwork to sell approximately $52 million in company equity through a predetermined trading arrangement.
The transaction is part of a Rule 10b5-1 trading framework that Shotwell established in June, which allows corporate insiders to program stock sales ahead of time.
This isn't the first time an unlock event has impacted SPCX's stock price, a similar occurrence on September 9 resulted in a 3.9% single-day decline.
