SpaceXAI Employees to Build Startup from Scratch in 72 Hours Using Grok Bot AI Agents
SpaceXAI, the AI research company formed after SpaceX acquired xAI in February for $250 billion, is staging an ambitious experiment. Three of its employees will attempt to build a startup from scratch in just 72 hours using Grok Bot AI agents.
The event, called Grok Bot Galaxy, takes place at a San Francisco venue and will be livestreamed worldwide for free. The team, consisting of Matt Palmer, Lauren Tan, and Roshan Sadanani, enters with no preconceived idea, product, or company name. All decisions will be made live on camera.
Grok Bot is SpaceXAI's autonomous agent product, which allows users to create AI agents that can handle multi-step tasks around the clock. The team plans to use Grok Bot for ideation, planning, and engineering work, with other colleagues joining for separate sessions covering sales, customer support, and marketing.
The event comes as rival lab Anthropic published a report on the misuse of its Claude models, raising questions about accountability when AI agents act without direct human input. By the end of the stream, it should be clear whether the team has built a working product with real users or simply a name and landing page.
