Stablecoin Card Spending Surges to $1 Billion in July
Stablecoin card spending has reached new heights in July, with a record $1.03 billion in transactions across the industry. This represents a significant increase of 16% from June and a staggering 200% year-over-year growth.
The number of individual purchases made using stablecoin-linked cards also saw a substantial boost, with over 10 million transactions recorded in July alone. In comparison, just three years ago, monthly crypto card volume was around $1 million.
Jupiter Global's USDC-backed Visa debit card played a key role in driving this growth. The card allows users to spend their stablecoin balances at any Visa-accepting merchant without the need for traditional banking conversion. With over 150 million merchants in more than 60 countries, its reach has been instrumental in connecting on-chain balances with everyday spending.
Visa dominates the stablecoin card space, processing around 90% of all transactions. USDT accounts for about 62.5% of settled volume, while USDC makes up much of the rest. Geographically, around 68% of total volume came from users outside the United States.
