Stablecoin Cross-Border Flows Surge Amid Crypto Bear Market
Despite the ongoing crypto bear market, cross-border stablecoin transfers have surged nearly 78% over the past year. According to data from Chainalysis, this growth has driven the total volume of dollar-pegged token transfers across borders from $124.2 billion in June 2025 to a staggering $220.3 billion by June 2026.
The monthly volumes have more than doubled, increasing from $11 billion in January 2025 to $24 billion by June 2026. This expansion came mainly from smaller payments averaging about $3,000, used for supplier payments, sending money home, or moving savings out of volatile local currencies.
New trade corridors opened rapidly, with 4,708 fresh routes carrying a total value of $2.64 billion. The bottom three quartiles of corridors expanded significantly, increasing from $0.26 billion to $8.66 billion in value.
