Stablecoin Market Surpasses $310B as Tether and Circle Fuel Q4 Momentum
The stablecoin market has reached a new milestone, surpassing $310 billion in value. This growth is not limited to just one or two assets, as the overall crypto market cap is also on the rise. In fact, in less than 72 hours, the stablecoin market added over $1 billion in liquidity.
Two major players in the stablecoin market are making moves that could further boost liquidity and drive growth: Tether is reintroducing USDT to the Bitcoin network via its partnership with Utexo, while Circle is launching cirBTC. This 1:1 wrapped BTC token will enable institutions to use BTC on-chain for lending, borrowing, and settlement without having to unwind their underlying Bitcoin exposure.
As stablecoin liquidity continues to grow, particularly USDC, which gained $881 million over 90 days, the market is setting up a significant liquidity test for Q4. If this trend persists and stablecoin supply increases in tandem, it could lead to deeper DeFi flows that define Bitcoin's momentum during the quarter.
