Stablecoins May Win Over Humans in AI-Powered Transactions

Share

Crypto has long been trying to convince humans that they need a new way to pay for everything. However, most people already have reliable options such as Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, or bank transfers.

But AI agents may be a different story. According to BlackRock, autonomous agents could become an important driver of digital asset adoption, particularly when it comes to paying for data and computing power.

AI agents are software that can carry out tasks on behalf of humans. They might need to buy access to databases or pay for computing power in the future. Humans can simply pull out a credit card, but AI agents require something more digital and programmable.

This is where stablecoins come into play. They are digital, programmable, and capable of moving around the clock - characteristics that matter more when the payer is software rather than a person.
