Stacks Labs' CEO appointment and Bitcoin staking expansion have driven a 21% surge in STX price over 24 hours. The token rose to $0.3852, with trading volume increasing by about 494%. Muneeb Ali, founder of Stacks, has been named the new CEO, replacing Alex Miller who will assume an advisory role.

Ali's priorities include expanding Bitcoin staking and institutional adoption. He has worked on Bitcoin since 2013 and led the first SEC-qualified token offering for STX in 2019. The Genesis Bond opened on September 10 with 250 BTC bonded at launch, and Bonding Period 2 is set to open on October 10.

Multiple institutions have already registered for the next period, which will offer capacity for 500 BTC, according to Crypto.news. Stacks Labs has confirmed that whitelisted capacity is filling up rapidly. The company's product roadmap and existing partnerships will continue as planned, with no changes expected under Ali's leadership.
