Stand With Crypto Backs Congressional Candidates Amid Midterm Elections

Crypto advocacy group Stand With Crypto has announced its picks for the next session of the US Congress ahead of the midterms. The organization, launched by Coinbase in 2023 to promote 'clear, common-sense regulations' for the crypto industry, is supporting several candidates running for Senate seats in 2026.

The endorsed Senate candidates include Republican Jon Husted in Ohio, where he's defending his seat against Democrat Sherrod Brown; Republican Ashley Hinson in Iowa; and Democrat Chris Pappas in New Hampshire. Stand With Crypto also backed House of Representatives candidates, including Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks in Iowa and Democrat Shomari Figures in Alabama.

This comes as many polls show Democrats are favored to regain control of the House and Senate in 2027, which could potentially change the way lawmakers address bills like the Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act. The crypto market structure bill failed to get enough votes in the Republican-controlled Senate earlier this month for a crucial cloture motion after passing the House with bipartisan support in 2025.
