Stand With Crypto Endorses Key Candidates Ahead of US Midterms
Stand With Crypto, a crypto advocacy group launched by Coinbase in 2023, has announced its picks for the US Congress as midterms loom. The group is supporting several candidates running for Senate seats in 2026, including Republican Jon Husted in Ohio and Democrat Chris Pappas in New Hampshire. In addition to the Senate seats, Stand With Crypto has endorsed several House of Representatives candidates, including Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks in Iowa.
The endorsements come as many polls show Democrats are favored to regain control of the House and Senate in 2027. A shakeup in majority control of either chamber of Congress could potentially change the way lawmakers address bills like the Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act, which failed to get enough votes in the Republican-controlled Senate earlier this month.
Stand With Crypto warned of 'consequences' for lawmakers who did not support the bill after its failure. The group endorsed 32 House candidates in August, calling them 'proven digital asset policy champions.' Some candidates have already been flooded with money from the crypto industry filtered through political action committees (PACs) and direct donations to campaigns.
