Standard Chartered Predicts Fivefold Rise in Sky Token Price by 2028
Standard Chartered has initiated coverage of Sky's SKY token with a price target of $0.325 by 2028, representing a fivefold increase from its current value of $0.065. This forecast implies that SKY will keep pace with Ether and outperform Bitcoin through 2028.
Geoff Kendrick, global head of digital assets research at Standard Chartered, likened Sky to a 'federal bank' due to its role in issuing stablecoins, creating a governance framework, and charging borrowers a wholesale interest rate. The platform returns value to token holders primarily through staking rewards, with token buybacks accounting for a smaller share.
Sky is the third-largest stablecoin issuer behind Tether and Circle, and the largest issuer of yield-bearing stablecoins. Its yield-bearing sUSDS token has $4.5 billion in total value locked and offers a 3.6% annual percentage yield, according to DeFiLlama.
