Standard Chartered Sets Ambitious Targets for Four Altcoins
Standard Chartered, a global financial leader, has recently shifted focus to the altcoin market beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum. The bank’s research team, led by Geoffrey Kendrick, Head of Digital Assets Research, has highlighted four promising altcoins: Uniswap (UNI), Aave (AAVE), Morpho (MORPHO), and Arbitrum (ARB). Kendrick believes that as traditional finance increasingly adopts blockchain technology, these altcoins stand to benefit significantly from the growing trend of tokenization.
Kendrick emphasized that the tokenization of real-world assets is not a fleeting trend but a lasting shift. He anticipates that institutional investors moving assets onto blockchain networks will fuel the expansion of the DeFi ecosystem. Standard Chartered previously projected that the total value of tokenized assets on-chain could hit $4 trillion by the end of 2028, with stablecoins and real-world assets each contributing $2 trillion.
For Uniswap, Kendrick revisited the bank’s earlier prediction of UNI reaching $100 by 2030, suggesting that even this target might be conservative. He pointed to Uniswap’s robust liquidity network and its token buyback and burning mechanism as key factors that could drive UNI’s value higher. Aave was identified as a leader in the on-chain banking system, with a projected target of $3,500 for AAVE by 2030. Morpho, on the other hand, was seen as having strong growth potential in on-chain asset management, with a target of $60.
Among the four projects, Kendrick’s most ambitious prediction was for Arbitrum, with a potential target of $10 by 2030. This optimism is tied to Robinhood Chain’s adoption of Arbitrum technology and the revenue it generates for the platform.
