Stellar Price Plunges 5.3% Amid Surge in Altcoin Deposits
The price of Stellar (XLM) fell by 5.3% to around $0.214 on October 3, 2026, without any bad news related to the project itself.
CryptoQuant reported that altcoin deposits to trading venues had climbed 160% within two weeks, to the highest level since October 2025.
This surge in deposits is seen as a sign of selling pressure, as holders bring their coins to exchanges to sell.
The analysis firm noted that this level of deposits has preceded larger price swings in the past, but it does not necessarily mean that prices will fall.
Julio Moreno, head of research at CryptoQuant, stated that the connection between deposits and price swings is a probability, not an automatic mechanism.
On the other hand, 16 of the 21 largest cryptocurrencies by market value are down over 24 hours, with Stellar being the second-weakest name in the field.
The median of all 21 cryptocurrencies lies at minus 2.2%, with only five names being up.
