The Soroban SDK, a Rust-based software development kit used to write smart contracts for Stellar's (XLM) smart contract platform, Soroban, has received a significant upgrade. The new Version 28 of the Soroban Rust SDK includes various build system changes and new features such as Spec Shaking v2, contract data migration, sparsely published events, executable references, and native contracts that can be uploaded in tests.

The update focuses on improving the way specs are included, using a principle similar to dead code elimination used by compilers. This change allows for more efficient and streamlined development of smart contracts on the Soroban platform.

Stellar is also celebrating its 11th anniversary, having launched on September 30, 2015. The network has continued to grow and develop, with recent milestones including passing 22,000 RWA holders.
