Strategy Boosts BTC Holdings, Continues Net Buying Amid Rising Prices
Strategy, a company that had not made any new Bitcoin purchases in some time, resumed buying BTC in the last two weeks, adding to its 847,666 BTC holdings. The company's president, Michael Saylor, recently spoke with Binance and shared the company's strategy for buying BTC. According to Saylor, Strategy does not have a fixed target for Bitcoin assets and will continue to acquire them as it raises capital through equity and loan products.
Saylor noted that the rise in Bitcoin's price could support further BTC purchases by reducing the company's funding costs. He explained that the appreciation of Bitcoin, which has a limited supply, creates a cycle that strengthens the company's access to capital. As Bitcoin prices rise and funding costs fall, Strategy can raise new capital under more favorable conditions, leading to increased BTC purchases.
Saylor used the company's $152 million STRC buyback announced on September 28 as an example of its active capital management strategy. He emphasized that Bitcoin itself does not generate interest income, but appreciation in BTC price and efficient capital management remain fundamental elements of Strategy's Bitcoin-focused financing model.
Saylor stated that Strategy remains a net buyer of Bitcoin, but accumulating more BTC will become exponentially more difficult as the price rises. He also noted that the company's securities and stock price would grow along with Bitcoin, creating a complementary structure between Bitcoin, STRC, and MSTR.
