Strategy, the company behind Bitcoin treasury stock MSTR, proposed changes to its preferred securities that would allow daily dividends. The move aims to support 'price stability, liquidity, and demand' for these securities, according to Chairman Michael Saylor.

The proposal includes allowing dividends on four types of preferred stocks to accrue every calendar day, including weekends and holidays. Payments would be made on the next business day. Strategy's push for daily dividends comes as it seeks to make its preferred securities easier to trade and more responsive to market demand.

Strive, another Bitcoin treasury company with ticker ASST, has already implemented a similar daily-dividend approach with its Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Preferred Stock (SATA). Strive CEO Matt Cole pushed back on the MSCI classification framework for Bitcoin-based structured finance companies, arguing that they involve active management of capital, liquidity, and risk rather than passive asset ownership.
