Strategy Raises $2 Billion, Pauses Bitcoin Buys Amid Cash Pool Launch
Strategy, the largest public company holding Bitcoin, has made significant financial moves. The company raised about $2 billion through common stock sales between August 17 and August 23. During this time, it held off on new Bitcoin purchases, maintaining its existing holdings of 840,447 BTC.
The funds were generated by selling 18.26 million MSTR shares under the at-the-market (ATM) offering program. Strategy repurchased approximately 1.43 million STRC preferred shares for $136.4 million and added $300 million to its US dollar reserve.
The remaining proceeds went into a newly launched US dollar cash account, which now holds $1.59 billion. This brings the company's total cash across two pools to $6.69 billion, including its existing reserve of $5.1 billion.
